Prune Poznic, a former Parisian model and actress, now living in Santa Cruz, California, is the creative force behind From Paris to California Design. Having worked extensively with some of the greatest fashion designers in Europe – including more than 10 years working personally with renowned designer Sonia Rykiel – Prune brings the highest levels of beauty, sophistication, and subtle detail to her work. Prune also has a deep passion for movement and ecology, inspiring her to work with natural materials to create living and working spaces that are not only visually stunning, but also inviting, personal, and highly comfortable.

Prune is also a certified teacher of Wutao, a French movement art based on breath and undulation. Inspired by this practice and her love for ecology, Prune has integrated into her design approach a powerful relationship to breath and space. She believes that walking into a room should not only appeal to the visual senses, but should also inspire one to breathe more easily and fully, and to move with more freedom and flow.

Prune’s inspirations are vast and varied. She spent most of her life living and working in Paris, but also lived in New York City and California, and has traveled the world extensively in search of new colors, textures, and other forms of artistic inspiration. She is as comfortable drinking cocktails with famous Parisian designers as she is sitting on the sidewalk in Thailand, discussing colors and fabrics with local tailors.

Prune moved to Santa Cruz in 2018, and started From Paris to California Design to bring her unique approach to design to anyone looking to step out of the ordinary into a world of color, movement, bold choices and subtle details. She is the proud mother of a beautiful 4 year old daughter and regularly retreats to the beach and the redwood forests to reconnect to the most crucial of her visual inspirations: the infinite variety and elegance of the colors and textures of nature.
